History
Treasures of the Pacific
Cultivated in the warm, crystal-clear waters of Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, South Sea pearls are born in the Pinctada maxima — the largest of pearl oysters, capable of reaching thirty centimeters in diameter.
Their pearl farming, which began in the mid-20th century, requires patience and expertise: it takes two to four years for a pearl to reach its exceptional size.
Character
A Royal Sparkle
What characterizes South Sea pearls is the remarkable thickness of their nacre—often exceeding two millimeters—which gives them a deep, almost velvety luster, quite different from the sharp brilliance of Akoyas.
Their natural colors range from silvery white to intense gold, including rare and elegant champagne and cream hues. Each pearl is a unique piece.
